Stage3 Breast Cancer Treatments

The cancer still has not spread nearby lymph nodes and far beyond the breast in stage 3 breast cancer. The 5 year survival rate remains at about 49% to 56% in this stage even though the stage 3 breast cancer is more advanced breast cancer as compared to the stage 2 breast cancer. Again, it does not mean that the women with stage 3 breast cancer will only live for 5 years, instead it is just the measurement of the success rates for the treatment of cancer by seeing how women are doing after 5 years of the treatment. Studies have shown that a combination of a variety of treatments often proves out to be very effective.

Stage 3 Breast Cancer Treatment Options:

The treatment options available to a women with stage 3 breast cancer are as follows: (Again, a combination of the following treatment options is used for an effective stage 3 breast cancer cure.)

  • Radiation Therapy
  • Chemotherapy (commonly administered on stage 3 breast cancer patients)
  • Hormone Therapy
  • Surgery
  • Biological Therapy

Clinical Trials:

Clinical trials are open to many women with breast cancer. Cutting-edge treatments may be accessed through a clinical trial. There are many new treatments, new drugs and new combination therapies in clinical trials now. Any successful treatment that we now have was started out in a clinical trial after all. You should seriously consider participating in the clinical trials.
